Dear EAD Member-

This is to announce Egyptians Abroad for Development will now conduct the 2012-2013 Board of Directors Election. There are seven (7) board of directors seats that are to be filled during this election in accordance to the bylaws of the organization. The term is one year commencing from July 1, 2012 and ending on June 30, 2013. Please refer to the 2012-2013 Board of Directors Election powerpoint for 1. organization structure, 2. information on the board positions, and 3. visual outline of the election process. 

Procedure for Board Elections:

  • Become an EAD member ($40 Annual Regular Fee/$20 Annual Student Fee). EAD Membership Form
  • Self nominate and/or nominate an active EAD member through an on online survey for a board position starting TODAY
  • Close of the nomination period marked on May 1, 2012
  • Nominees are to receive an email from  to inform/confirm their candidacy
  • Nominees are to decline and/or accept nomination(s) by May 10, 2012 to be listed on the voting ballot. Please note: a candidate may run for more than one position
  • Presentation for candidacy by nominees (3-10 mins on their vision for the position) to be held at the May 20, 2012 General Assembly Meeting
  • An email will be sent out to announce the opening of the voting period: May 20, 2012-May 25, 2012
  • An online voting ballot will be made available to active members. For the sake of anonymity, voters names and choices will not be shared with the current board. An Election Manager is to oversee the voting process. EAD member, Ahmed Attiah has volunteered for the role and hence is ineligible to run for a board position
  • The Election Manager to tally votes and notify all nominees of their status
  • The Election Manager to announce the election results on June 1, 2012
  • A Runoff election is to take place in case of a tie
  • The newly elected board will assist in the preparation and presentation of the General Assembly meeting on June 16, 2012 as part of the transition
  • The new elected board is to assume full responsibilities on July 1, 2012
