Egyptians Abroad for Development would like to express our sincere appreciation to our guests for joining us at the event on February 4th at Drury Lane, Oak Brook. We were overjoyed to host 255 guests from the Egyptian and Arab Community. A special thank you goes to the Egyptian Consulate in Chicago for their unwavering support.

The event featured an entertaining oud performance of Egyptian national songs that stirred the emotions and set the ambiance for the evening. EAD President Islam Eldewek shared a word of welcome to our attendees and highlighted our project: Education Pathway to Development. General Consul of Egypt Ambassador Maged Refaat shared a word with the guests on unity within the Egyptian community in Chicago and the great potential that the passionate youth have for contributing to the development of Egypt. Our keynote speaker Mr. Wael Ghonim reflected on the Egyptian Revolution and engaged in a Q&A session with the audience addressing topics that ranged from the present to the future of Egypt and his current projects. Signed copies of Wael Ghonim’s Book “Revolution 2.0” were made available for purchase at a discounted rate. Master of Ceremonies Dr. Dina Rashid eloquently hosted the event. Photos and video from our event will soon be posted on our Photo Gallery

Please mark your calendars. Our next event is set to take place on Friday, May 25th, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Carlisle in Lombard, IL. Proceeds from this event will be put towards EAD’s educational cause. In an effort to aid in the development of Egypt’s schooling and education, Egyptians Abroad for Development has initiated a scholarship program that will allow young Egyptians within the educational field a semester abroad of internship experience or of studies in the United States.

Egyptians Abroad for Development is committed to make a difference by combining our knowledge and expertise abroad in the further development of Egypt. Please help us continue the work we have started by donating securely online to our cause Support Us
