His Excellency Ambassador Maged Refaat Aboulmagd is leaving Chicago and returning to the Foreign Ministry in Cairo by the end of August, 2015. Although four years had passed, yet the Egyptian American community had the opportunity to know and interact with a very special man during a very special period in the history of Egypt.
The past four years were very critical period in the Egyptian history that kept Ambassador Maged very busy presenting Egypt views and policies to the American society. He has spoken at Universities, visited Egyptian communities within his jurisdiction in the Midwest, participated and interacted with various national organizations and institutions. Also, he sponsored and was a great supporter of the arts including the performance of theatrical plays by Egyptian playwrights in addition to musical and Arabic events and exhibits.
