General Body Meeting

January 15, 2012 at the Oak Brook Public Library

The first general body meeting of the year was held at the Oak Brook public library with 15 existing members, 2 new members and Dr. Hafez Sami, a member of the advisory board. The meeting reviewed the goalds for 2012 to 1. enlarge the general assembly by recruiting more members, 2. strengthen the community, 3. create solid financial support of the organization, and 4. start on the EAD education project. Other updates included: Membership, EAD participation in monitoring the counting of the ballots during the rounds of the parliamentary election at the Egyptian consulate, and EAD’s dinner event commemorating the first anniversary of the Egyptian Revolution featuring Wael Ghoneim. Volunteers signed up to help out on the day of the event. Also, the upcoming Fundraising dinner event in May was discussed, sponsorship packages and contracts were reviewed, and  volunteers were asked to come forward for a workshop day.
